I am using Unleashx file explorer to ftp from xbox to xbox. I have been doing this for quite some time now and have never had any problems, untell this morning. Now when I try to ftp from either xbox to the other I get this socket error 10060.

I should mention that one of the xbox's just got a HDD upgrade.

I know that this shouldnt matter but hey the more info the better. One xbox is a 2-way split tsop with x2 4983 bios (this one with the new HDD) and the other has an X3 chip with the X3 bios latest version.

Thanks in advance

which xbox got the new HDD? source or destination? When you re-installed unleashX did you set the network settings again?

source or destination?

Not sure what you mean by "source or destination"? But I have tried using both xbox's to ftp to the other one. The tsop box to pull files from the other and the chipped box to put files into the tsop box.

Yes I reconfigured the network settings in unleashx after the re-install.
settings are
tsop box
static ip 192.168.0.5
subnet 255.255.255.0
no dns or anything else. max users 2
no annonymus

chipped box
static ip 192.168.0.3
subnet 255.255.255.0
no dns or anything else. Max users 2
no annonymus

I have tried just about everything I can think of and I keep getting the socket error 10060.
I just had a thought I did not change the annonymus to yes I am going to try that right now.
I will let you know.

First off I want to say sorry about the bump but it wouldnt let me edit.

I have now noticed that when I try to FTP using DVD2XBOX from the tsop flashed box there is no IP adress. (the box does not see the other box). However the chipped xbox sees the tsop flashed box using both DVD2XBOX and Unleashx.

The tsop box only sees the chipped box using Unleashx and not DVD2XBOX but I cannot connect.

Ok guys after pulling all the hair out on my body today (and I do mean ALL the hair). I figured it out pop.gif

When I put the new HDD in I installed a new version of Unleashx (it was version 0.39) and for some reason it was not letting me ftp into it at all. I then made a boot disk of my old Unleashx v0.38 and am now fully operational again.

holy shit this was a pain in the (!)

Nevermind! I guess I just got too excited. By switching the dash back to an older version that I know worked, I fixed all other ftp problems but not xbox to xbox ftp. I still get the socket error 10060.
However when I run dvd2xbox I now get the ip in the bottom corner but still can not connect. I am at my witts end here guys. Hopefully someone can help me out.

Thanks

B.U.M.P.

I still have not got this guys. I can ftp from either box to anything except to one another. I guess I will just have to give up pretty soon cause I have just about run out of patience with it.

I'm new to modding but have plenty of experience in networking. This socket error is typical to what I used to get back in Win95 days networking 2 PC's using crossover cable.

1. How are you networking crossover cable or switch?
2. FTP to each box via PC?
3. If switch is DHCP enabled, can you ping xbox IP's?
4. PASV mode?
5. Does new HDD contain alot of files? Are you establishing connection but directory listing is timing out?

Hope I can be of help.

* Just noticed your answer to Q2, you can FTP to xbox from each from PC.

ok answereing questions first

1. networking with a crossover cable. Same one I have always used. (sorry I thought I had mentioned that in above posts.

2. I have three xbox's for simplicity reasons we will call them 1, 2, and 3. I can ftp too all 3 using PC, I can ftp from 1 to 3 but not to 2, I can ftp from 2 to 3 but not to 1. Settings are all set to the same exept for now I have the ips set to in this order 1-192.168.0.2, 2-192.168.0.3, 3-192.168.0.4, and PC-192.168.0.1.

3.No Switch

4.Have tried with PASV enabled and un-enabled (now I have it enabled)

5.The New HDD did not contain anything on it exept for neccesary files to run xbox and ftp programs.
Here are the programs I started with
DVD2XBOX
xbox media center
UnleashX
evox v3935
and Halo backed up to HDD.

Here is the strange part. Maybe it will mean something to you. When Connecting from xbox 1 to 3 - when I open the ftp server in file explorer I can see the name of xbox 3 after it auto searches for connections. When I open the ftp server to connect to xbox 2 It does not see anything, but on the main screen I get an ip adress there as tho I have a network, and when the cable is unpluged there is no ip on main screen.

Thank you I really appriciat any help. I am ..... yeah!

oh and I found that socket error 10060 is a timeout error.

I hope everything is answered, but I am sure someone has a question about something I have overlooked.

I am sorry for bringing up an old thread but it was never really answered, and i am encountering the same issue with my recently tsop flashed v1.0 xbox. it will not connect to another xbox, i can get it to ftp and smb share with the pc but not another xbox, my other 3 xboxs seem to work fine with each other, so
should i re-flash?

ver. 1.0 xbox
tsop flashed with x2 4981 bios
xbmc newest as of 11/22/2011 - first dash(xbmcid installed)

thank you in advance

It's okay to start your own thread.

What are the mac addresses/ip addresses of the xboxes? Did you mess with any eeprom settings between these xboxes? (Duplicate addresses of either will cause problems).

I've said it many times, and I'l say it again: If you want to FTP from xbox to xbox use avalanche .. it will max out your network/harddrive for the entire transfer and make it take a lot less time. (Unless you only have a handful of files, then it's not an issue..)
