Major Nelson Interviews Bill Gates and Briefing Highlights Video -- Posted by XanTium on May 10 18:09 EST
Major Nelson (alias Larry Hryb, Microsoft's Xbox Live Director of Programming) posted a nice podcast interview with Mr. Bill Gates himself.
They talk about the recent announcements at the Microsoft Pre-E3 Press Conference: Live AnyWhere (Xbox, Windows PC and Windows Mobile gaming coming together), how they try to get more age groups involved in gaming, how many 3rd parties are jumping on the Xbox Live Arcade wagon (with historical games and new original titles), success of the Xbox Live MarketPlace and the Microsoft E3 booth (with hands-on-play of 2nd gen games like gears of wars, forza2, fable2, ...).
You'll also learn how Bill likes PGR3 and has his own LIVE gamertag (no you won't get it ;)), his 9y old daughter and wife both like Zuma and his 6y old son plays Marble Blaster.
You'll also learn Bill Gates wrote a 'game' (donkey.base - a ~50line basic program to test out basic functionality) in the original version of DOS and he was even writing simple games (tictac, monopoly, baseball) in basic when he was 13.

Go download this 4min30 podcast interview on majornelson.com.

In similar news ... for those who only want to see the highlights of the Microsoft Pre-E3 keynote Xbox.com did put up a short 10min 'Briefing Highlights' video.
The full 1h20min keynote is still available for free (in low-res) on gamespot.com (free reg. req.) or just the audio here.

Who honestly didn't think/realise Bill wouldn't have been a nerd as a kid?

Imagine if people had his gamertag tongue.gif He would get so many messages, game requests.....love letters.....etc

i found it hilarious that nobody applauded the HD-DVD add on... didnt really see anything to exciting really on that video, but some of the trailers on marketplace were pretty decent.

I reckon it's probably something lame like Bill3452 etc.

I was acually playing against a Bill in Battlefield 2. And it was good to Kill Bill.

Not many people know this, but Bill Gates is actually autistic...just like Rainman except not as severe. Obviously there are many levels to this.

You can pretty much bet that all super geniuses are autistic aswell as super nerds that cannot relate to other people and societ in general and find homage in computers and role playing games instead.
