the converters require boards to convert the wires, its not just a wire arrangement swap. just buy the converter

And all there is is a bunch of wires that converts the ps2 to usb.

Them little adapters that MickRaider posted can only be used on some usb keyboards/mouse.

Right but most modern keyboards can use both usb and ps2.

http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/usb-cable.php Something like that

They're interchangable. They both do the same thing, they just use a different data bus.

What you could do is find one of those data buses then use a continuity tester, like a mulotitester to figure out which wires go where.

Or just buy a ps2 female to usb male.

He wants to use a PS2 keyboard not a USB one.
I don't think you can convert USB to PS2 on the Xbox.

I don't remember ever seeing one for the PC.

Edit:
Not sure if this would work on the xbox. http://usbstuff.com/ps2.html

cheaper to get a USB keboard (try yard sales).

It really varies on the keyboard and mouse, some work with no problems, other get completely messed up and don't work at all. If you want to use a PS/2 mouse/keyboard just snag a SmartFrag thingy which I've heard works fairly well in many xbox games.

An example where those converters don't work (even on pc's) is through a KVM switch, you can never get it to work haha

all those things do is splice wires.

Seems like a rather expensive solution when you have the parts to do it yourself.

Like I said most modern keyboards can use either data bus.
