Xtreme Xbox 360 firmware Modified to Work with KeyDrive Patcher/Xtractor -- Posted by XanTium on May 16 14:47 EST
The FOROS360 Team released a modified version of Commodore4Evas Xtreme firmware for TS-H943 Xbox 360. It will make the firmware compatible with FOROS360s KeyDrive Xtractor/Patcher(info) so you can easily patch the firmware with your unique DVD key (no need to manually hexedit it anymore). News from foros360.com (translated from spanish):
Thanks to a small modification that we have done to the firmware released by Commodore4Eva, now KeyDrive Patcher/Xtractor v1.1 can be used to modify the key of your reader without no kind of problem.
Right now there are 2 releases of our firmware:
* a full firmware image
* a ppf patch that will turn the release of Commodore4Eva in our modified version.

Tutorial:
* First extract your firmware from your DVD drive like we explained in our video tutorial (in spanish)
* Extract your key of your original firmware with KeyDrive Patcher/Xtractor (KDX) v1.1 and copy this key.
* Open xtreme_proper.bin (FOROS360s modified version of Commodore4Evas Xtreme firmware for TS-H943 Xbox 360) with KDX v1.1 and you will see that the key this completely 0.
* Put the key of your firmware on the key of xtreme_proper.bin
* Save firmware

This firmware is now prepared to be flashed!
Official Site: http://www.foros360.com
Download: n/a (firmware contains copyrighted code and might be illegal under DMCA/EUCD (even ppf patches probably) - don't ask for it and don't link to it from our site, thx)

So whats the directions for using this,I know its already posted somewhere but I'm sure that all the noobs will be asking anyway so why not have a quick tutorial. That is of course if someone Who knows would be willing to post it for the rest of us.
Thanks.

if I'm reading it correctly then you need to patch the original firmware release with their ppf patch.

now you can use their program to read your key from your firmware and then add your key to their hacked firmware.

dvd drives are specific for each system. Each dvd drive has it's own unique key. That is what the foros tool is for. You can extract your key from your original drive.

You can then take that key, apply it to a different drive and use it in the 360.

Taking a step further....

1) extract unique key for dvd
2) purchase another dvd drive
3) apply your unique key to the FW
4) send firmware to new dvd

that's it!

well you extract the firmware whichever way you like...i used a Slax linux live cd and memdump for my Hitachi.

That gave me my drives firmware.bin

When those boys get their act together and release a firmware for the Hitachi I will use F360s tool to extract my key from that firmware and patch it into the hacked firmware. I will then reboot myPC into linux to put the drive into modeb, reset the PC back into windows without rebooting the xbox and flash with that hacked and keyed firmware. Et Voila!

If I could find a place where I can download the patch I'd love to try it and put the results on here. But my Spanish is sort of screwed up atm wink.gif

I'll keep trying,

Good Job!!! This is going to continue to get simpler and simpler. Soon I am sure that someone will have a Windows package that will do everything needed including propts for the dummys ( 1)hook up original drive; 2) Press Ok; 3) ...)
