I'm sending a mate of mine one of my spare HD's with the xbox ready (dashboard, XBMC etc)

I will be preparing on my xbox which is a DuoX2 with all space in the F drive so no G drive.
My mate doesn't know what chip he's getting fitted, will the HD work fine in his even if a different chip or BIOS?
