I think that with Mame already working on the original xbox, this is useless. Crazy to pay for playing that

No point in paying for arcade games on 360 imo. I will just wait for a mod chip so I can run some emulators...free smile.gif

Unless I REALLY want a game from XBLA then I might buy it...MIGHT! tongue.gif

Geometry Wars was the only reason i bought my 360.

The other games are just a bonus.

have you actually played any of the arcade games? we all know that they are not hardcore games, but they can be a hell of a lot of fun.

just download a couple of the free demo's and see if you cant get hooked on one or two of them.

XBLA is one of the most integral portions of the 360 for MS.

In fact, the industry is starting to pay A LOT attention to these new revenue streams, because for them, in many cases, it is equivalent to found money.

They know they aren’t cannibalizing on their mainstream business, but at the same time, they're able to nickel and dime a little extra from the hardcore gamer in many cases, and in other cases, they are attracting a fresh demographic, the "up-until-now" disinterested gamer.

I was at e3 this year and there were more than one workshop about attacking the "casual games" market. "Sieze the minute". smile.gif

Look for it to expand heavily in the next 3-5 years. Considerably.

Just my 2c happy.gif

yeah, the arcade is bringing a hell of a lot of new gamers to the xbox. in the ps vs xbox war, it will make a huge difference. i know of a lot of people who have a 360 mainly for the arcade games, and i know a shit load more who will get a 360 after the first time the price drops, just for arcades

if sony doesnt have a system like this, then i can see a lot of 'casual gamers' switching from playstation to xbox simply for the comvience of being able to download games

I have bought Geometry Wars and Smash TV. Both are hell of a lot of fun. (Smash TV when playing with a friend is better.) I haven't had the chance to buy any more games since I have no money at the time. The thing I will surely buy games are a later times. From what I've heard, games that are gonig to be added to XBLA will be better. I mean, mortal kombat should see some action. Still wish there were some capcom or SNK games in there. I prefer those.

I think they're great. Marble Blast Ultra and Geometry Wars Evolved keep me busy. I'm really looking forward to Sonic The Hedgehog biggrin.gif I loved it on the Sega Genesis, now it's coming to the XBL Arcade... Sweet!
