I want to know how can I make my controller port LED's 1/2 as bright as they are now. I believe Im using 3mm. I did wire a resistor into each set but I dont remembeer the value of it. So how would I go about reducing the power? Just add more resisitors? Also Do I need the metal part of my case. Speciffically the bottom. Will it cause problems...grounding problems???

what are the 4 colors on the resisitor in order? the shielding is not used for any grounding isues but if you take it out you will most likely get radio interference and you will get squigly lines on your screen

People actually rarely get interference. It all depends on where the xbox is located and what kind of TV you have. I have yet to get interference with three xboxs, none have the shielding.

The colors on the resisitor are like this (Im not sure what end to start from) gold, black(may be dark purple), red, light blue. And it does all work...its just too bright...

I believe those are 62ohm resistors. You could try using 100ohm resistors.
