QUOTE(samfisher440 @ May 31 2006, 08:40 PM) *
Hey guys,
I recently got a old computer that supposibly had a 'virus', although as soon as i turned it on, it works perfect, so seeing as though I already have 3 comps in my house, I could do with another one tongue.gif . I decided that I want to put my xbox in the case, and keep the internals of the computer in the case aswell, so I have a computer and xbox in one.
I can fit it good and everything, I just dont know how I should go about cutting the window in the top, what shape should I do it?? (its a horizontal case)
And also should I keep the computer in it? its a Win 98...and as heavy as shit, Its just becasue the case is 3 times bigger than the original xbox case, and I wanted to make it worth it.

Heres some pix:

front

IPB Image
Original drive for comp

IPB Image
the plastic panel that was infront of the spare drive place (im using this to surround the front of the xbox drive)

IPB Image
Top of case (dunno what shape i should cut it, but i want a fan in the middle like the Xion Cases)

IPB Image
drives

all in there biggrin.gif

I will have to extend the dvd drive wires, the p/e board wires, the controller port wires and the PSU wires, other from that I dont think I need to do anything with the xbox internals besides mounting everything and cuttin holes at back for p/v/l and adding fans.
Give me some comments biggrin.gif
Sam

Hmm... maybe a good idea if you hardwire an ethernet connection as well. At least you don't have to do much to transfer something! smile.gif

Nice work though, attempted something like this in a tower, but gave up hopelessly sad.gif

And I also found 6" Neons for $9 each, im gonna get two blue ones and put them either side of the X's Big Triangles, they are for cars but they plug into the cigar lighter, which from what I've read is 12 Volts, so perfect for the good ole' yellow wire biggrin.gif

Ok a bit of a failure sad.gif but i got somewhere...

IPB Image

IPB Image

I used a jigsaw and used a steel blade, now this shits tough, took me about an hour to get that far tongue.gif
Any Ideas on what I can use to cut, so far Ive heard a Diamond Tip on a Dremel, Havnt tried tin snips yet though, but that will be hard. Just a reminder that this stuff is really thick and is almost like pure steel...

I would use a titanium tipped drill bit to drill lots of holes in a line, just inside the lines you have marked on the case, and then use either the jigsaw or the dremel with a diamond bit to connect the holes up, then a metal file to smooth out the edges.

Good luck, computer cases can be a bitch to cut through.
