I just booted it up and it prompted me to download an update in order to continue playing the game.

EDIT: I play it almost every day. It seems to have only just come up. Seems odd. There is no mention of it on the BF2 site.

maybe u mistaken it for teh small update for everyone just recently released which was for chineses fonts or something

I assure you that I am not. In fact I actually declined the update and then rebooted to the dash. It didn't prompt me. I then booted BF2 back up and it prompted me again.

So it is DEFINITELY a BF2 update.

The shitty shadows seem a lot better. I could be wrong. I hope they've also fixed the voice thing.

Read about this on another site. You guys guessed it all right, they lowered the volume of the army voice and fixed the shadows. Thats it.
