Commodore4eva released a new improved version (v1.1) of his Xtreme Firmware for Hitachi-LG GDR-3120L 47D Xbox 360 DVD Drive and said he will release a version of firmware version 46 on monday.

The guy is good. I hope this opens the door up for homebrew. now I see all these pcb chip makers trying to profit from what this guy (comm4eva) did for free. If you spend more then 5 bucks on a connectivity kit you are a douche. laugh.gif

If anyone should be compensated it should be the hackers (c4d et al.), not those greedy modchip companies that take advantage of the work of others.

Why are you guys getting excited? No one has posted any discernable difference between the 2 releases. I haven't noticed any difference between the 2 firmwares, and I still can't play any backups.

Someone please help.Finally got my drive detected with wire trick.I dont know if Ive done something wrong in the past cause I never use dos but when I go to start,run then type cmd I get this error C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.com
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.
CS:0551 IP:0102 OP:ff ff 83 3e 51 Choose 'Close'to terminate the application.
If I choose ignore it just goes away.WTF Im sittin here ready to flash,how else can I run extreme.bat and pick my drive letter which is e.

as soon as I finnally am able to get 1.0 on, 1.1 comes out. Oh well I cant even test it yet, because I need to go buy dvd+R dl discs tomorrow

Sorry for the quick post finally got it to run xtreme.bat e but all I get is failed,failed and a couple more faileds then done,what the hell went wrong?I was reading where it says keep doing it but Ive did it about 10 times still failed
