I finally got my XBox up and running great with Xebian... After the install my XBox was still working, so I played with it some more till it broke... I was trying to figure out why the UXE couldn't play DVD's and figured patching the MS Dash might get it working. It installed fine, but I could not get it to run the DVD's. Anyways... I tried uninstallling it normally, but that kept hitting errors, so I took a risk in trying to delete it from the "savegames"... and got totally fucked! I had to reboot for an unrelated matter, but when I turned it back on, I got the error described in the title. I made a file system backup using FTP, but obviously cant just pop the hard drive into the PC. During the same time I was deleting the MS dashboard and patch, I deleted the mechinstaller for unleashX... I've tried the Xebian install CD as well, but the XBOX won't boot from it anymore. I still have the memory card but can't access any dashboard to transfer the save to the Xbox HDD. Are there any games that can do this? If I hotswapped it, are there any programs that could get the install save on the HDD? The file system is in tact because ltootls could still see the linux installation and the games (which are, thank god, still playable/bootable) can see all of their saves. I wouldn't mind having to re-format/partition the HDD if someone would give me a decent guide for doing this... I shouldn't need to go through the hassle of unlocking the hard drive and norton ghosting it though as this is the original HDD (Hotswapping still works) should I? I've also got a USB/Controller adapter and the mechassault game. Any ideas would be appreciated.

This is more of a softmod problem than an unleashx problem, I'm sure the exploits forums are full of solutions.

Thanks, I guess you are right. I googled up the answer on the exploit boards in about a minute!

Glad to hear you fixed it. I've never messed with softmods, so I don't know where to start when helping people with them. That's why I pointed you to the exploits forums, not because I didn't want to help you because it was the wrong forum, but because I figured the answer would be there.
