has any1 else got this setup?

ive managed so far a big fat ZERO % with this setup!

could some1 tell me if they have had any luck or wots the best setup to go with.

I have a NEC 3550a and tried it with different types of media, including verbatim +R DL.
All i have so far is 7 coasters. Even tried to upgrade the firmaware of my burner to 1.06y. No luck.
Then i tried the other burner a NEC 3540a. Also no succes.
I think NEC just wont work with backups, so maybe it time to go out and buy a pioneer 111d.
Or wait till they bring out a good crossflash for the NEC which burns a better Lead-in.

Ive used Nec 4550 with verbatim and they work 100% GREAT even with 8,4 X speed, but this is ONLY on my samsung drive, at any speed Verbatim and Nec WONT work with the Hitachi drive.. Imation is the only brand Ive heard actually works..

get a diff dvd drive, NEC will NOT work with hitachi

mine worked 100% on samsung but on hitachi nothing works

got pioneer 111d and its 100% on hitachi

I have an NEC 3500. Trying to dump games with it, but none work. When everyone says "NEC won't work with Hitachi", does that mean it won't even dump games correctly or that burning just doesn't work?
