With the firmware hacks and these backups and Dual Layer nonsense, how well do the backups work?

Are the load times significantly different, do the burning speeds affect this? (only mentioning 1x - 4x) in a racing game for instance, would it be smooth gameplay?

when the drive has to access the second layer fo the dvd does it lag, are their any issues with this.

It take 10 - 15 seconds for the XBOX to recognize my backup (Hitachi drive, verbatim disks, pioneer burner) but once it starts playing, I don't have any problems. All burnt at 2.4X

very nice, the average recognition time i notice on any dvd drive is 13 seconds... perhaps the xbox360 customized original discs are recognized faster, but that is very good. I might do that mod.
