Xtreme FW f900 for Hitachi-LG v47
Posted by Iriez | June 26 03:40 EST

From spectrum4eva @ xboxhacker.net
f900 firmware for Hitachi-LG GDR-3120L.
This firmware let you extract Xbox360 Security Sectors from the 3120L version 47.
The usage is very simple:
getss.exe drive ss.bin
drive-> is the letter of your 3120L DVD drive
ss.bin-> is the generated SS file

The generated SS are compatible with me friend commodore4eva xtreme firmware.
I only release this tool because you CAN'T SHARE THE SS, THEY ARE COPYRIGHTED.
Note: This release ONLY works for the hitachi v47 drive, and is specifically for extracting the security sectors of original games.

*Update XanTium* Geebee updated his Complete Xbox 360 DVD firmware guide (v34) with details about how the flash this FW f900 firmware on a Hitachi-LG with FW v47 and how to extract the SS from an orginal Xbox 360 game.

Im assuming the Hitachis still need to be in modeb to do this, so my question is, how can we keep the Tray shut when in modeb, otherwise this is will do no good really..

why do you need to keep the tray of the hitachi drive shut ??

I used the crosswire trick, I could eject my tray as much as I wanted, and I was still able to flash the drive in windows

I only ejected the tray in windows, after windows detected my drive

btw : cool release!!!!!!!!

So you have to be in mode b, then first extrract the encryption key from your original hitachi firmware ? and then re-encrypt over the xtreme 900 firmware and them flash the hitachi ?

Not to flash the drive.. i mean to get the SS key from the game... if you cant keep the tray shut, how can you get the ss key.

If im missing something please let me know, and my apologies.

Before flashing I would keep an eye on this thread. Sounds like someone found an issue with Geebee's tutorial.

I sort of found a way to keep the tray shut. I dont remember exactly how i did it but it was something like going to the dashboard and then hitting close tray, but when open tray pops up i hit that immediately and then for some reason it stays closed and the disc spins. Oh and when its closed, it should still say "close tray" on the dashboard i think it was. You just kind of trick the 360 doing this i think.

to sum it up looks like they are going to merge the firmware so you can do both (play games, get SS, one flash file). I'd wait around for that, certainly would make life alot easier.

Sweet no more reflashing I can leave the sammey alone and my other 360 can donate its
hitachi drive to my pc. Then I can sell whots left on ebay with a disk that has the key on it.

No, that's not what I am talking about. This is from what Geremia on Xboxhacker.net posted:

A specific advice about this fw patch

At unencrypted 3E7FC you must see 00 00 00 00, this is the workaround to disable checksum.

If you patch orig.bin you have 666460F7
If you patch orig-e.bin and then decrypt it with firmwarecrypt (just to see if code is ok), you have 00 00 00 00

So, this seems that you need to patch the encrypted fw

Just a precision, as seventhson says, the hitachi firmware is not encrypted, it's only scrambled, but folks like to call a bitswapping + xoring an encryption.

its all fixed in the v34 tutorial i posted earlier. THink Xantium updated my thread with it.

Just needed to encrypt your original fw before patching it.
