When the plexi is installed (not flush) is it ok if it touches any of the internal parts? Specifically the thing next to the airscoop opposite the fans (heatsink?). I have 1/8 plexi and right now, it touches that. Is this ok? Thanks.

Um, if it touches the airscoop, it should be fine, but if it would be touching the heatsink, then it may start melting the plexi, but I don't think the heatsink gets that hot in order to start a meltdown.

thanks. I see that most people use 1/8th thick plexi - at least thats the impression I am getting from reading the forum. I would think if this is the case, most people would have the same thing, unless they are flush mounting. I don't want the plexi to melt. Should I get something thinner?

IMO if you're worried, i say get the thinnest as possible.

idk there were those boxes that were overheating that burnt into the metal shielding that I personally wouldnt want to have plexi touching the heatsink

ok - thanks for your thoughts. I haven't glued it in yet, just set it up to test it. I think I am going to flush mount, just to be safe. the only reason I didnt want to flush mount was because I have a piece of the case that I am going to glue to the top of the plexi - not connected to the rest of the case. So if I flush mount, this middle piece will stick up above the box - but thats ok.

that was jus discolouration, look at the sheilding from an xbox that been used for a year or so and thats no where near the heatsink and its discoloured.
true that ne XE showed was pretty bad, but noway was is hot enough to melt plexi.

you are probably right grim but that would be enough for me to want to get it as far away as possible
well my plexi is literally less than 1mm from my heatsink, and my 360's been on for hardcore amount of hours, no discoloration or nothing, it's safe as houses

Safe as houses in a war, lol. Seriously though it might warp it over a period of time.
