I new to graphics programming and directx. I was working on submitting code for the weekly programming contest on www.xfactordev.net.

Anyway, my question is regarding materials. If you apply a material to an object that already has a color set, does it completely override those color settings. Also, what happens if that object has a texture map, and you apply a material?

i haven't used directx yet, but in openGL, a texture will override the material color.
