GaryOPA released an updated version of their Hitachi-LG firmware (all versions) package that now includes the 3 tweaks released earlier in the Birdy Xtreme FW for Hitachi-LG v46D v1.2: [QUOTE] XTREME v1.2 - NEW VERSION OF ALL FIRMWARES FOR ALL HITACHI'S This release is greatly improved release over v1.1 releases! #1: Auto-Detect of all Hitachi firmware builds #2: Auto-Retry if FLASHing or RESTORing fails! #3: Auto-Verify of firmware FLASH or RESTORE!! --: The FIRST three updates, helps stops all those BRICKs! --: The NEXT three updates, everyone has been waiting for! #5: Once your drive has been updated to v1.2, you can easy but the drive back into Mode B for updates or later SS extraction usage, by just powering-up the Hitachi with your drive TRAY in the fully OPEN position. #6: No more auto-opening of tray when in Mode B, this will be helpful when the FW update for SS extract is ready. #7: Dashboard timeout fix - If when booting a backup game, and the dashboard displays OPEN TRAY, you just need to press the EJECT button, the tray will stay CLOSED, but the dashboard will "auto-trick" into reading the game! i have one question.

Do the Mode B tweak work before of flash v1.2 firmware?

if is possible the my problem with with the acknowledgment of modeB is resolved!

ps. on my drive i have original hitachi firmware

I appreciate the continued development of this FW mod stuff even though I have no need to play "backups" on my 360. However, I have seen tons of news posts of new firmwares over the past week or so.

There should be a thread to continually summarize and update the information so as to not confuse everyone each time a new group releases a new firmware - forgive me as someone may already have done this.

Nice work guys, Tested on my 47dj and works.

Some things i have noticed tho ... sometimes the dvd tray dont eject, so i have to let teh game/dash load then eject it by holding down the eject button.

Also i sometimes have to press the eject button 4 times to change the disc for example....

Hold down eject (to eject tray)
press eject (dash says closing tray .. but it dont close)
press eject (dash says opeing tray ... tray closes)
press eject (dash says reading.. and it plays)

can be pretty annoying sometimes but still a step in the right direction!

Im also loving the modeb trick! works a treat

Sorry, the Mode B tweak does not work until you have first flash the drive to the v1.2 firmware,
afterwards once your drive is running v1.2, it will be easier for updates in the future.

Yes, no problems wirh flashing over the v1.1 firmware.

The new firmware redoes one section, and adds two new flashed sections.

Yes it really works...

u need to get the firmware pack from the usual places
the instructions to use it are in the !README!.txt file
