Hi I did used to have an AMD 64 laptop with 15.4" widescreen but that stopped working, laptop don't turn on. So I had to go back to my PC & Mac and use my 19" CRT. Then that stopped working so my Dad got me this free 17" CRT monitor, it's horrible it's hurting my eyes, colours are off and there's a logo burnt in the screen. I'm not having much PC luck recently!

So I'm saving up my cash (got about £100 so far, not to far of another £20). And I'm thinking of getting this screen, I like wide screen in games such as counterstrike so I was used to it back in my laptop days.

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/in...duct_uid=113266

I have used Ebuyer before so I know there good, I understand 8MS is the norm for the odd gaming session and it has good reviews so far, even built in speakers.

It has no DVI but I don't see any advantage of that, when I get a 360 (prob around Christmas or March time or later) I'm skint, I'm planning to hook it up to this via official m$ VGA cable. I understand there's a bit of washing on 360 but they improved it with updates?

Any input is great, I only got like £120 as my budget and after I need to get a cheap KVM switch, and need money to last me to end of next month happy.gif.

i would just make sure that your vid card can support the monitors naitive resolution. the reviews left by the customers all point in the good direction, i would say if you got the money, buy it

Shiny love.gif

Looks like a good buy to me, but yeah, just make sure your computer can support it.

My PC has an ATI Radeon 9550 256MB GFX card that can go up to 1600x1200 resolution.

(I'm assuming that support the native widescreen resolution? 1440 x 900)

My MiniMac has an ATI Radeon 9200 I think and I did manage to get 1600x1200 on my original CRT so I guess that is capable to? I know I wont get 1600x1200 on that monitor but I'm guess the higher screen resolution I have had my MiniMac and PC then it's capable of widescreen?

Would the X360 if I was to ever get one look ok in WideScreen on this monitor? I would probably have it at native 720p.

Dam out of stock as soon as my allowance goes in. Pff need to put some more cash in anyway, it's annoying how there's no banks when you live in a village!

It's possible your budget may not allow this, but I recently bought a Samsung 204B. It was $325 US(I don't know the converasion rate) at an actual store. Internet prices are slightly lower. This particular monitor displays in 1600x1200 resolution. But it has a VGA and DVI input. You can switch inputs using a button on the front panel. If your PC has a DVI output, then you could easily avoid using a KVM. I haven't tried to plug in a 360 on this yet, but I think I'll try it this weekend. My girlfriend uses her LCD monitor for her 360 through a KVM switch and the clutter on her desktop is horrible. Not to mention it requires her PC to be on since we got one that doesn't use a power cord and uses hotkeys on the keyoard to switch the signal. But it wasn't a big deal on hers since she connects the 360 to the internet through her PC's wireless connection, so the computer has to be on either way. I'm not sure how available LCD's with dual inputs like this are in the price range you're looking in, but it might be worth looking into. You would have at least the cost of the KVM to add on(make sure you get a good idea of cosat on this as many KVM's are limited in resolution and may not be easily compatible with some set-ups. I'd stick to a name brand as well as I've heard of problems when using cheaper brands). The only good thing about being able to use a KVM is that if you get one that allows it, you can also switch the speaker source along with the video.

I don't know of any sites in your area so just looking at the one you were looking at there is this monitor:

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/in...oduct_uid=91303

Not trying to coax you out of the monitor you are looking at. Just thought I'd interject another point of view though. The fact that the one you want is widescreen is a nice feature too though.

Thats cool, unfortunately its out of my budget, I don't have a job. I'm living of an allowance, I ordered my monitor about 2 days ago. I had some cash, gave it to Dad and he ordered my monitor, so he takes some money out of my allowance (normally £80 a month) now I get £16 next month LOL. I got like £113 left for this month and next, I start uni in sept I really need a job lol!

Thanks for the info on the KVM switch, I really need one, that's how I fux0red my original CRT, by moving the cable constantly from my MiniMac to my PC, it twisted the cables inside. I guess Ill just use my PC for a while until I get a KVM switch. I guess I will need a 3way one as well if I ever get a 360, what one do you recommend for a low budget student like me?

Well I got it! My room aint good lighting for photos but I have two illustrator docs open at 80% on my mac. It's so nice, widescreen is awesome on this! This is going to be great for uni for web design work.

I played Counter Strike Source earlier in widescreen (16:10) it looked amazing! The colours were great, I'm so happy with it. I'm hoping the X360 will be great on it as well if I ever get one.
