Hey all, this is my redo of my original post, this one will have pics added with video and schematics

Parts
Talismoon Whisper Fan Blue

Sickmods 360 Fader

Blue Backlit Start and Back Buttons from Llama

Part 1. The Talismoon 12V Fans With Variable Speed

I used a 10 ohm Rheostat( Pot, Variable resister, or potentiometer) with at least a 12 Watt rating in series with my fans. I used the 12V power from under the mobo connecter with the PSU, best source, clean, reliable, not dangerous!
IPB Image

There you can see the rheostat mounted on the case nest to the fans, some minor soldering was required and minor clipping of the fans plastic on the side Here you can see how i mounted the rheostat specifically so that the pin comes out of the hole in the case already.

IPB Image

also i installed a 12V fan from an old P2 cpu heatsink onto my cpue with the stock 4 screws and screwed(wedged) emn into the fins, they run on the same 12V pin as the otehr fans.

Part 2. The Sickmods 360 Fader with DPDT Center-off swtich Installed

I really liked the prospect of the 360 fader from sickmods, but not all the time, and not only one color wither, so after talking with the designer i decided on using a Double Pole Double Throw Center - off switch to control the on/off state as well as the color depicted. In my 360 i have blue smds installed as primary and white as secondary.

The wiring for the switch is shown here
IPB Image

also here are a few images of the installed switch and fader, a whhole was required for not only the for the swicth but for the wires going from the wireless module to the swicth

IPB Image

there is liquid electrical tape around the contacts

Xbox 360 running with fan speed control and sickmods switch installed

All done

Part 3. 360 Wireless controller with The llama.com backlit start and back buttons

pretty much everything is summed up in the schematic

IPB Image

before i figured that out i had the LED buttons wired directly to the battery terminals, so that the buttons would always be light even if the controller want on, So i used a NPN transister from radioshack in series after the two leds with the base hooked up to a pin shown in the images , that goes high when the controllers is on and low when it is off.

heres 2 videos, a schematic video and a working running video

Schematic Video

looks good, but does that second fan run on the same source of power as the tailmons fans?? otherwise that would be a noisy 360 with both on 12V! blink.gif

yea, but i would only like it if i had by variable resister otherwise, its too loud at 12V and if u use the original mobo power, well it doesnt actually make the heatsink cool, i temp tested mine and it was around 8v with the other cpu fan at it was around 80 degrees farenheit, but when i cranked it to 12V it was cool to the touch and around 60 ish degrees, i highly recommend what i did i am very pleased

They don't work great when they are plugged into the fan ports?

no what i mean is that yea it moves mroe CFMs and cools it well with the mobo connecters but nnot as well as if you have 12 volts, its perfectly fine to run at the mobo 5v connecter, thats wat thier designed to do , but so were the stock fan, its just that i prefer more cooling with 12v + a variable resister, also at 5V mobo thier near silent
