Hey. Since I am not brave enough to crack my 360(yet), I thought I would make another xbox. The stock look of an xbox just doesn't look right with all of my other electronics. I have a silver 30" widescreen tube TV, silver 7.1 digital amp/receiver, silver 5 disc DVD player, silver 5 disc HD upconverting DVD player, a stock(for now) 360 and a silver VCR. Now, I know what you are thinking..."What the hell is a VRC?!?". The thing that all of these have in common is that they are light coloured and sleek. The xbox however, is a chunk of blackness. I plan to change that with a little, well actually a lot of bondo and hopefully very little work. Oh, who am I kidding, it will probably be hell. Now I will hopefully have some progress pics up soon. I am actually posting this from work as my home PC gets error messages(You are not permitted to view this page. Even when not logged in) when I go to this page. It won't even let me log in(any suggestions of why, please PM me, I have PM'ed a moderator to see why). I started this last night but did not get very far. I snapped some pieces of plastic off of the inside of the side vents, cut the side vents out and shaved the 'XBOX' off of the bezel. I will show a cheesy MSPaint drawing of what I sort of want.

IPB Image

Cheesy blue is underglow. All lights will be blue including the fan. I will be removing 2 controller ports. I am undecided on where to put the power/eject lights. The jewel will be semi-lit, olny glowing around the outline of the letters, which is already done. Colour will be white.

Again, sorry for the cheesy pic, I am at work.

Let me know where you think a good spot for the power/eject buttons would be.

Well, I did some work today and last night. Reattached the side vents backwards so they will be smooth. and I bondo'ed the top of the fins. I have taken pictures and will upload them tonight or tomorrow.

You might have big problems with cooling if you don't allow for airflow. Other than that, this project sounds cool tongue.gif .

Airflow will remain the same, I'm not going to block any vents off.

what modderx is saying is take it easy on the bondo and DON'T go overboard with it.......there was a project a while back that involved A LOT of bondo. I thought it looked like a lumpy, uneven cake.

anyways, make sure it stays smooth and even, and good luck. smile.gif

Little more bondo work done this morning. Sanding and whatnot. I'll try to post the pics tonight. I've been kind of wrapped up in the Saint's Row demo. tongue.gif

As for the bondo work, I have quite a bit of experience with it as my Dad used to do alot of body work in the garage and I helped any way I could.

Looks cool. I think you should put the P/E buttons on the top at the front (where the little triangle for the X is, or used to be in your case).

Oh and personally I think silver would be a better colour for the theme your going with, but I'm not gonna bitch if you use white.

LMAO! Silver looks great, but I was actually trying to make the xbox fit in more with my 360. Now saying that, I do have the silver faceplate for the 360. Maybe you're right. However I am nowhere near the painting stage now. Sitll sanding my ass off. Who knows what I was thinking only buying 2 sheets of 40 grit and letting the bondo dry over night! Well, tomorrow, my day will start with a bike ride to my local Canadian Tire store for more 40 grit and a sanding block.

As for pics, I will take more tonight and upload them. Does photobucket work on here? I still cannot log on to the site at home(sending this from work). I seems that when I moved, I ended up with an IP address that was banned from this site...

Great news! I've managed to renew my IP address at home so I can post some progress pics.

Sorry about the 'glow' on the bondo'd pics, they were just taken outside at night with the back light on.

Please don't be too harsh on me, I have only worked on this for about an hour.
