Halo everyone, I just got a Xenium gold chip today, and I installed it myself, all the led lights look right, however it boots up and acts the same as it did before I installed the chip. I don't understand what flashing means entirely, I thought that the xenium gold had a different dashboard and everything. Sorry I am such a noob, I have tried to research, but I only have access to a dial up modem right now and I am at my wits end with jumping from site to site without understanding anything I am reading. I cannot connect my Xbox to this computer, because it is not mine, my computer is not hooked up to the internet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well if you installed it correctly you should see the xenium OS
And flash your bios from there |

That is a very nice chip. However it can only do so much on it's own. The dashboard is located on the hard drive, if you don't load a new one (Like Evox or XBMC) then all you'll get is the same old stock dash that you are seeing.
The easy method is via FTP from a computer, other methods would involve DVD-R's or CD-RW's to copy the files from a computer to the xbox. |

Thanx guys, I figured I had ruined it or something. I'm going to try and download a dashboard now.

So I should have seen a xenium OS when I turned it on right? I need that to flash the bios, or do I need to flash the bios to see the OS? and if I do flash first, how do I do it?

OK, Check it out, I finally figured out what is going on, I have a version 1.6 Xbox, the xenium gold I installed is a solderless setup, but you can't setup up a solderless chip on a version 1.6, I have to use a pinheader setup, but there is no directions on how to do this anywhere, If anyone knows how to do it please help me out, I just ordered an xecuter 3 chip, but I would prefer to use this xenium gold if anyone can teach me how to install it.
