I need to know before I shop. Are store boughten green leds the same colour as the leds on the front of an xbox? I know that there is quite a difference in cold cathodes. I am wondering for my project. Also are led fans the same green? Thanks.

well, i know that the LED fans should use the 'clear' green LEDs. the 'clear' green LEDs are not the same color as the stock green.

the stock green LEDs are like old computer green LEDs. for the most part, they are the same as the LEDs with the colored lens. radio sells them for cheap.

Another quick question. I have never had my xbox on at the same time as my 360. Are the green leds in both systems the same colour?

Don't buy LED's locally. They're a complete waste of money. Buy them from an online vendor who can get you 50 for the price of 1 at some places.

Sweet, I'll try a few. And for the cost of 6-10 leds, it will be cheaper locally because there is a sale at my local 'The Source'(American stores are invading Canada). They are $2.99(Canadian) for 2, buy 2 get 2 free. So it'll cost me like $12. I'll pay that so I won't have to wait and also I have paying for shipping.

sorry, try www.ledshoppe.com 100 LEDs for around 10 bucks (including shipping)

not sure if the green LEDs on l.s would be the same as the stock LEDs, but you can just replace em, takes about 5 minutes biggrin.gif

Paying more then 30 cents for an LED is a ripoff. Let alone like 3 dollars!

For 12 dollars I could get 57 led's. You're nuts man.

from hongkong. i ordered the 3dollar SD card reader to usb(looks like a thumb drive). it works fine, but its defiently made cheap. its good enough for me, i will probably order my LEDs from there when i need some more.

i got my part about 5 days later.
