I recently softmodded my daughters xbox using this guide:
http://www.techfreaks.org/articles/modxbox.shtml

Once I got this working my next step was to install a larger (80GB) hard drive. I made the .iso however started running into problems with my main PC which has an LCD screen. For some reason I would lose input signal when selecting Option 1 (boot from VGA) so I tried Option 2 (boot text console) and all went well. However, when the option came to lock the HDD I would once again lose input signal into the LCD screen !!

Some more reading and I happened upon a semi automatic way of unlocking the hard drive through generating a DOS floppy - I followed the guides to the letter but still couldnt get the drive to be recognised (error on xbox boot). I have tried using unlockhd and and unlockx but now it seems I cant use my hard drive.

Bottom line so far - whenever I try and boot from the xbox I get an error OR whenever I boot from xbox hd maker the drive is no longer recognised.

Can someone please help me turn this paperweight into a usable drive for my xbox.

Cheers
