I just got Prey and stuck it in and the first thing it does is tell me a console update is required to play this game. I'm the type to update very in-frequently and only when I know exactly what the update is for. Anyone know what this update is for?

prey requires the spring update. if you look on MS there is a long list of what this allows to you to do.

aside from letting you play prey (jester.gif) the update will
allow you to boot to your dash if a game is in the drive
have support for the xbox live camera
make it so you don't have to babysit your marketplace downloads

it is also supposed to reduce crashes. overall i think it had 130 something bugfixes/feature additions.

Hey, thanks a bunch for the reply! Good info. I couldn't find what this update was for anywhere. I'm surprised a game requires a certain dash update. What if I didn't have internet (well, that'd be pretty sad, but......I'm sure someone out there has a 360 without being able to connect). Thanks!

the update is on the disc, so if you didn't have xbox live, it would apply it from the game itself (actually, it might apply it from the game itself anyways since its there. no reason to hammer the live servers if its not neccesarry.)
