PPF patches aren't as reliable as hex-editing. In my opinion anyways. Therfore, I'd still prefer X360SAM over thsi. Although...I actually prefer everything manually anyways, but maybe I'm stubborn.
EDIT: Actually, kind of funny that this is in the news. Exobex released X360SAM version 3 today, so that it works from a floppy without taking forever. I'd rather see that in the news. (or both of them)
To make ppf files I modify data keyzone (4000-43FF) in firmwares to make correct patch to convert original firmware s to Xtreme versions with original key zone. Don't have problems to use ppf files when ppf is make correct and detect original firmware version.
The patchet firmwares are clones of xtreme firmware realease by C4E. I check with Hex Workshop the original xtreme & patch file with ppf files.
The ppf file to patch xtreme firmware only work in ms25 version, but Keygen detect all original firmwares and C4E xtreme version and send code version to convert other firmwares (ms25 abril 2006, ms21, ms28) to "official" Ms25 with anothers ppf, then apply xtreme Patch in original Ms25 firmware.
The Keygen (verifier firmware) check the firmware with crc in offset 0- 3FFF & 43FF- to 3FFFF to dectect any error in original or patch firmwares.
X360SAM work in real dos mode? Is more fast patch all files in Ms-dos without reboot to windows.
The next version work in Usb or Floppy. I have a floppy version but need translate to english.
