I just started playing my backup of Dead Rising, I didn't have a save so I started from the beginning. I loaded fine and I started to play through the first level (helicopter level). I pressed Start to try to pause the game, it went to a loading screen then gave me a Dirty Disk error. I tried loading it again, but now it just freezes on a black screen straight away.
I searched and found topics of people having similar errors, but I couldn't find any help. I tried clearing my cache, booting without the HDD and various boot tricks but I get the same result!

My Setup:
Hitachi 47DH
OPA v2.1 Firmware
Pioneer DVR-110D (auto-bitsets to DVD-ROM)
Mirror DVD+R DL
Burnt with CloneCD at 4x

I've used the same setup to backup 2 other games and they both work flawlessly. Can anyone help? uhh.gif

Mirror DVD+R DL

suspect #1.

dead rising accesses the disk a lot, i wouldnt be surprised if that media was crap.

id also expect your other games not to last too long, considering ive never heard of mirror media.

I'll try burning again at 1x. I've used Mirror media before and they've worked well.

bad media will sometimes work at first, but degrade quickly...

be careful which manufacturer you choose to hold your precious game data.

the fact that it worked at 1x and not 4x isnt quite right with good media either... i can burn 2.4 verbs at 8x with no issues.
