Can't Read Dvd Drive Through Ftp Options

I'm having trouble with a duox2 blue mod making a backup. With my executer 2.x chip and my executer3 chip I used to launch avalaunch, used the file explorer to view the dvd drive, and then use an ftp on my pc to extract files in order to make a backup iso. However, after recently using the duox2 blue modchip, I can't get the avaluanch dashboard to launch. I try using the ftp client that installs from the slayer's disc, but no dice. Also, I tried networking my xbox through the "my network places" in windows explorer, however, it will not refresh the files in the disc drive once the original is inserted... it shows the c drive contents.
