Xbox Fragging With Cdrw In - Matrix, matrix problem, please help! Options

ok this isnt for me but its for my friend who doesnt know jack about mods and xbox.
He told me he flashed his matrix with a blue x2 bios and then he said he got the flashing green light in test mode to show it was alligned. when he booted it up he said the logo was green and it still said MS and loaded the M$ dash still. then he burned evox and put the cd in and he said it turned on,off,on,off,on,(fragging) then the light flashed red and green. so whats messed up. his chip or box? i wanna know the fastest way to fix it cause ill get 30 bucks. and also to add he said he thinks its a 1.0 was manufactured in april 2002 and bought in september.
