Maximus-Garyopa Hitachi-LG Xtreme v2.2 Stealth 8in1
Posted by XanTium | October 6 21:51 EST

Maximus released a new version of the GaryOPA Xtreme Firmware package for the Hitachi-LG Xbox 360 DVD drive that includes his latest "Stealth Firmware" patch, Geremia's "Media Detection v2" patch and support for ROM VER. 59B:
[QUOTE]
Maximus-Garyopa_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_2_Stealth 8in1
MOST OF THE WORK IS FROM garyOPA, even most of this Readme File
TESTED MANY TIMES ON 46/47/59/59B, other versions not tested

FEATURES (my contribution on this release):
* Removed old media detection and replaced with better media detection (media detection ver 2) from Geremia.
* Incorporates Maximus Firmware Stealth (Full Firmware Stealth)
* Added support for 59b firmware (what a stupid fw)
* Not yet Media Stealth... I have not heard news on this topic

Three Commands (for flashing use only one: Flash15s or Flash22s, no both):
FLASH22S.BAT: Flashes your drive with 2.2 Fw Stealth (Media Detect 2, F900 core and Firwmare Stealth
FLASH15S.BAT: Flashes your drive with 1.5 Fw Stealth (Media Detect 2, and Firwmare Stealth, (NO F900 Core)
RESTORE.BAT: Return your drive to original State, even if you have firmware stealth in your drive

*RECOMENDATION: If you have flashed your drive in the past use RESTORE
first. If it is a brand new drive use directly the Flash command you
like. If you dont plan to use your drive to dump games use the
flash15s.bat

* ALL NEW XTREME V2.2 FIRMWARE FOR ALL BUILDS OF THE HITACHI DRIVES! [except the new 78FK of course]
* Now includes "Security Sector Extraction" for all Hitachi Drives
* Included media detection 2 from Geremia and Maximus Firmware Stealth, this release just supports SS Extraction within Windows without the need to re-flash your drive back and forth between PLAY & RIP!

Awesome, just one question. Why is it recomended that if you don't plan on using your drive to rip games you should use the Flash15s.bat. Would it act any different? I have ordered a Samsung drive to flash the Kreon firmware with so I can make backups with that, but until I get that drive I may use the Hitachi drive to backup games, so I was just wondering what the difference is. I know that Flash15s.bat doesn't install the F900 Core but this shouldn't really effect it for anything else, right? Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thank god, now n00bs will stop flashing Birdy's cause it has the media patch.

Much, much thanks to Maximus for updating this and GaryOPA for originally releasing this. love.gif pop.gif

So to get this straight..

Now hitachi's have stealth media AND firmware

Samsungs only stealth media.

Sorry for my ignorance but does this mean xbox live cannot see modded hitachi's now?
I know an update may be able to change things.. however there is no way for them to know now that hitachi systems are modded period?

also.. when restoring..
Take unique folder from old xlg folder (old opa release) and put it in this new maximus-garyopa release right?
then hit restore? does this unique id folder even need to be put in this release?

Hey guys,

If I install this new firmware, can I burn games using Schtrom360XtractV3.0 under the 'stealth xtreme 3.0' task setting, and have the disk work in my xbox?

If I do this, will the disk perform in a stealthy fashion, or will I have to wait until a further update by GaryOpa for this to take effect.

To clarify, my main question is whether this firmware will ready 'stealth xtreme 3.0' disks regardless of whether they will act in a stealth manner or not.

Thanks,

And I'm new so go easy on me if this isn't an appropriate forum for this kind of talk.

WOW!!!! The Mediapatch makes a huge difference. 2 games I backed up and burnt that didn't work at all on 2.1 now work perfectly. Burnt from a NEC3550 onto verbatim and cheap playo media, both worked flawlessly. No need for the pioneer I ordered now. Cheap DL media!!!!!! wooooo, I love it. THANKS VERY MUCH TO ALL INVOLVED.

This FW is for the Hitachi drives. The media stealth is only implemented in the samsung (3.0+) but I think that Xbox backup Creator will rip the sectors that make the media stealth.

I have not been able to get Schtrom to work with my hitachi. I have read all the posts pertinent & I have only heard the samsung mentioned so I dont think it will work for ya.

If you were to rip the disk from a drive with firmware that supports stealth, you can play it on a Hitachi with this FW & it would be complete stealth. But time will tell...
