Does anyone know where to find a complete list of what needs to go into a skin to create one?

The goal behind this is to create my own obviously so if anyone can help in this aspect i would appreciate it.

The quickest and easiet way to do it is start with pm3 as your base and slowly replace all the images and xmls 1 by 1 until you got somthing completely different

Yeah I guess unless you need some sly tricks like MC360 uses. Like how the blades switch or the exitfullscreen.xml with it's invisible button.

In my opinion, I believe if the images are "royalty free" and not property owned by M$ then it should be fine, as long as if the need arises you can provide proof of purchase (if they were) or a link. It would also be a good idea to get authorisation from the author.

strictly speaking, even royalty free images would not suit your purpose... someone still owns the rights to royalty free images and if the rights holder disagrees with their usage you could find yourself in trouble. That said, its a bit like taping the simpsons from television. It may not be strictly legal but the feds are not gunna come round your house for it. If you really want to be beyond reproach - make the images yourself, use non pirated software to publish them and do not accept any money (yes, sadly, that includes donations). For this type of deal rights holders shouldnt really have any problem with it it as long as you ask in advance, breif them on your plan and credit all work not done by yourself.

But remember, ^that is being super anal/legal and this is just a hobby. wink.gif

good luck! any finished skin for xbmc is a good skin.
