X06 Korea: 100GB Xbox360 HDD
Posted by XanTium | October 19 11:38 EST
From engadget.com: [QUOTE] Microsoft just announced a 100GB hard drive for the Xbox 360 at their little X06 shindig in Korea, and the drive should be making its way to shelves -- at least in Korea -- by March of '07. There's no info on price yet, or really much info at all, but when has a PowerPoint slide full of Korean characters and lame-fonted "100 GB" overlays ever steered you wrong?

id love one, but one wonders what MS will do about transferring your files.
i dont want to have to start my games again (like when you sign up to live), and similarly i dont want to have to shell out MORE cash for a memory unit or some sort of connection device.

like that will be cheap... or even worth it. Maybe when the box is cracked but not until then. Just transfer the files from the 20 to your PC and back when you want/need them.

I can't see ever needing more than 20gb- especially since MS will probably charge $120 for this 100GB version, 'cause M$ along with retail stores love to overprice hard drives for some reason...

Can't say I didn't predict this... this is the exact reason for purchasing the core model. Now I won't be stuck with an extra 20 GB, although anyone who wants to upgrade won't have a problem unloading a 20 GB on craigslist or X-S.

what's wrong with you, look at the prices of the other memory units for the size/price ratio. Its going to be at LEAST 150.

Yes!!!!
I will upgrade in a heartbeat when this becomes available here in the US. And no I won't be feeling bitter for purchasing the premium sku As for transferring game saves, not a problem (there are solutions for that already).

I can see both 360's getting upgraded, rather than a price drop within the next 6 months. If the 100GB drive is true, then I see the premium coming with the 100GB drive for $400 and the core now including the 20GB Drive for the same $300, maybe a wireless controller too instead of wired.
That allows the 360 to stay at the same prices for a while longer, but give you more for your money.
