I'm currently playing my 360 on a kinda old CRT computer monitor. I'm looking into getting an LCD computer monitor to play my 360 on because I was playing NHL 07 at my friend's on his computer and it looked really nice on his LCD monitor. The game looked brighter and cleaner on his LCD monitor. I thought my 360 would look nice on an LCD monitor as well...

I'm worried a little about ghosting/black level, if I get an LCD monitor with 8ms response time will I get ghosting or any slowdown problems? And will I be able to play dark games like Gears of War alright or will the black level be a problem?

Black levels on an LCD Monitor absolutely suck compared to a good CRT. I had a Samung LCD Monitor and I currently have a Sharp AQUOS HDTV. Neither even come close to touching the black levels of my 24" Sony GDM-FW900. The Sony cost me $180 used and it works perfectly. MSRP is around $2k! A lot of people play 360 on this baby and well...it's very hard to beat. Perhaps a very high end LCoS could beat it(not talking about low end SXRD or HD-ILA)...but that'ls cost you over $6k or so!

Black on an LCD is more of a dark grey. Black on a good CRT are actually black.

I love my CRT. I took my 360 to work and tried a few flat panels,
(Viewsonic and BenQ) and we are talking apples to oranges.
Flat panels always look a little fuzzy to me (like when you are using a lower
resolution on the desktop than the monitor reccommends)

I've loved my CRT and just got back from my friends house who had
just got a Samsung Plasma. The 360 looked very nice on it, but I was happy
to get playing back on my 19" Viewsonic CRT. huh.gif

And how does a large HD Plasma compare to a large HD LCD?

So the extra brightness the LCD will give me isn't enough to justify the switch?
