Blackbolt Classic Skin 2.0 for XBMC Released

This skin was originally made by Blackbolt for version 1.0 of XBMC and Has been completely redone by me (Jezz_X) to make it compatible with version 2.0 of the XBMC skin engine. Included are the 2 other color themes that were originally shipped as separate skins they are MOONLIGHT (Blue) and FARENHEIT (Red), the default theme CLASSIC is GREEN. After Project Mayhem 1 became the Default Xbox Media Skin, Classic was the first skin created which wasnt just an edit, it was a skin created from scratch, with a whole new OSD, and new homescreen functionality. Blackbolt was originally just an Evolution-X skin artist and this was his first attempt at skinning with XBMC, with help from the legendary 'Chokemaniac' (Project Mayhem Creator), he was able t complete the skin in the summer of 2004.

As we have many more options in XBMC 2.0, if you use the two included themes you will need to change the text color to match the theme this can be done in 'Settings\skin\settings\Change Font Colors to Match skin Theme'. All extra strings that need translation (if you wish to) are found at the top of the includes.xml in the PAL and PAL16x9 Directory of the skin between the two fields below:

<!-- Begin Translate section -->
<!-- End Translate section -->

The rest should translate with XBMC Language files. The Skin supports full HD Resolutions and Widescreen. Unlike MC360, this is a totally finished skin, the version number is 2.0 to reflect the retrofit to XBMC 2.0.0.Hope you like the remake have fun with it and please report any errors you find in it to the bug section on our xbox-scene forums.

love the tones of those 3 colours. this is brilliant, might even favour this to MC360 - always been a fan of a gui like this (menu in the middle).

Need to change the front post to link to the right file extensions...

Currently they're linking to .jpg's... The actual files are .png's.

Anyways - NICE Skins. Very sleek and professional.

So it finally came back to life... finally! Thanks Jezz_X for reviving this skin and thanks Blackbolt for making the skin for XBMC back from 1.0! I love this (especially Moonlight)

On another note, is there any chance that just the main backgrounds of each theme color be shared? I (almost) completely themed the scripts to match the skins I use in XBMC (PMIII & MC360 and now Classic) and it would be nice to customize my scripts to match this skin and the color themes.

Thanks in advance pop.gif

I'm actually going to up the all source images for all 3 themes to the Xbox Media Center Skinning project SVN soon so you will be able to get all images. I'll post a link and an anouncment in this thread when I've done it (couple of days) but if you want to get them all in one hit you will need to install a svn client like tortisesvn to get it or you can use the web interface to get them 1 by 1

But if you just point your script to background.png you should be fine

Hey great XBMC skin, i downloaded it FTP'ed it onto my xbox and i love it, goes well with my blackbolt ver.4 evox skin.

Anyway is it possible to make a skin for DVD 2 Xbox with a similar look and feel like this XBMC skin, make it backwards compatibleor something?

i currently have dvd 2 xbox 0.7.3 could i modify the project mayhem 3 skin with a similar layout as your XBMC skin? im kinda new with programing skins what would i need to do??

I know dvd 2 xbox's code is similar in some parts from XBMC.

This is just a suggestion but is it possible could you make a blackbolt skin for dvd 2 xbox?? i reckon if you made one a heap of people in the modded xbox community would download it, me being one of them!

OK guys/ gals seems I made a small stuff up with the video On screen display dialogs in that the slider controls in video settings and audio settings had no text on them.
So if you are one of the 1000 people who allready downloaded it before this post you might want to download it again same link just a fixed file
