I'm trying to decide how to go about the hack.

I would like to have a separate bios that can be switched if I decide to use LIVE later and I would like to have the ability to upgrade since Extreme bios updates come out every so often. I don't think the NME-360 will suit my need, here. Globe 360 looks good but ~$50/chip seems very steep. BTW, there are clones of the NME now that go for about $20. I'm hoping the Xeno will be upgradeable like the Globe since these chips(based on their other console chips) are usually decently priced(~$10 - $25).

Keep in mind that installation is not a problem for me...I'm an installer and have modded countless Xbox, PS2, etc.

For now I'm looking at installing a homebrew bios replacement...I have blank chips here so I can do this relatively quickly.

One major question I have is, are Extreme patched and NME patched backups compatible?

TIA

Edit: I have an early Samsung drive if that matters.
