Let me get this right. In the future, on games that are bigger than a dvd(with the long file name problem) you must patch them to back them up on the hdd. With smaller games that may have this problem you could ftp them from the xbox dvd rom to the pc then burn them to media and play them off the dvd. However if you want to backup to the hdd you have to go thought the same patching process as with bigger games . Is this correct? huh.gif

That's correct. This is a limitation of the FATX file system and not something that can be bypassed by the BIOS. However, renaming and files and relinking them in the XBE is fairly elementary. I'm certain a single patch tool could be written that would apply to all long-filename games.
