Survey says: loads of juicy rumors
Posted by XanTium | November 7 21:27 EST

From xboxic.com:
[QUOTE]
Certain Xbox Live subscribers got an e-mail today asking for their participation in a super long survey earlier today. It asked participants how interested they were in certain first party accessories and Live features.

The most interesting excerpts:
Xbox-Scene Xbox-Scene

* How interested would you be in buying an Xbox 360 branded mini-keyboard plug-in device for your controller to make text messaging and chat easier, assuming it would cost between $19-$29?
* Paying per song (~$0.99/song) to download music to your Xbox 360 hard drive from a music service. You would be able to use this service while playing a game.
* Paying a subscription per month (~$14.99/mo) to stream any and all music to your Xbox360 from a library of over 2 Million songs. You would be able to use this service while playing a game.
* Paying per video (~$19.99/movie, $1.99/TV show) to download standard definition full movies and TV shows to your Xbox360 hard drive
* Renting movies (~$3.99/movie) that are downloaded in standard definition to your Xbox 360 until you watch them and then are deleted
* Paying a subscription per month (~$5.99/mo) to access 10-20 internet radio stations streamed to your Xbox 360. You would be able to use this service while playing a game.
* How interested would you be in using an integrated Xbox 360 Web browser that would allow you to access and browse the Internet over your Xbox Live connection?
* How interested would you be in participating in beta tests for upcoming games if they cost an additional incremental fee?

thats survey sounds familiar.......there was one earlier this year that had some of those questions (the web browser one, the keyboard). In fact that keyboard has been seen in the wild, before the launch of the 360. It was referred to as the mini QWERTY keyboard, if I recall correctly.

How about they fix the fucking d-pad in the standard design instead of making us buy a whole new product???

I hope everybody answers NO NO NO!

$19.99 for DRM SD movies? $1.99 for DRM SD Broadcast TV? $5.99 for Shoutcast? Too much for this kid.

The future of next gen gaming looks expensive, and I guess if you don't want to pay for this bloatware then they will bombard you with ads.

How long will consumers stand for watching TV commercials in a movie theater that they paid $20 to sit in?

Hook us up with some good free content for crying out loud, how many of us have already invested $1,000 in this console?

And as far as the D-PAD goes, how about a recall on the existing ones-Arcade games are unplayable with the current design
...

Damn finally someone that sees whats coming and doesnt like it. Thanks for the comments roguetel.

I was starting to think that everyone else just loved paying all kinds of cash for trivial bs. ITS A GAMING CONSOLE. If you want us to BUY all the extras (wait i guess we arent buying it if most of it nukes itself) then give us a friggin deal.
And yes, that is a bad ass controller.

Obviously **YOU** don't know what DRM is.

Digital Rights Management (generally abbreviated to DRM) is any of several technologies used by publishers (or copyright owners) to control access to and usage of digital data (such as software, music, movies) and hardware, handling usage restrictions associated with a specific instance of a digital work. The term often is confused with copy protection and technical protection measures. These two terms refer to technologies that control or restrict the use and access of digital media content on electronic devices with such technologies installed, acting as components of a DRM design.

What roguetel is saying is that he is not paying $20 for something you can't move, copy, play on another platform.

I agree wholeheartedly.

I have a USB keyboard. Maybe if it was wireless with the system (like headset is)

Nope. Unless I can transfer them to my computer

HAHAHAHA You sir are a true moron. I read it like this:

* Paying per video (~$19.99/movie, $1.99/TV show) to download standard definition full movies and TV shows to your Xbox360 hard drive(doesn't say anything about rental)
* Renting movies (~$3.99/movie) that are downloaded in standard definition to your Xbox 360 until you watch them and then are deleted(Does say rental for $3.99, THOUGH)

You don't think that a movie you download From M$ to your Xbox 360 hard drive is DRM'd???

I'd love to see you move your downloaded Mission Impossible 3 over to your old XBMC XBOX,

Rental or not That shit is DRM PUNK!

And for everyone else who doesn't understand like asstar,
[DRM]= Digital Rights Management. You cannot use or transfer the file in any way that the copyright owner does not want you to.

The movie rental service sounds just like PPV, yet I've never seen anyone scream bloody murder over PPV.

Even if it wasn't DRM'd, how would you get it out without actually modifying any hardware? Drop it in your memory card? Then what?

Me, being the poor backwards bastard that I am, always figured cable TV was overpriced for just my one or two shoes. If I can subscribe to a TV show through Xbox Live for a few dollars, I'm going to do it.
