wow, that is great.
When you install an alternative OS on the PS3 does it overide the stock GUI, i.e. upon bootup will the PS3 go in to the alternate OS? Or do you go in to the XMB interface and then launch the OS?

That would be nice
I'll have to find out what distros are PowerPC compatible---I'm going to try out Suse for my PC, but that probably won't work for the PS3.
