We have a few ideas we haven't used like Mx's shadow writing and tks' Aristocrats. We also have tons of general subjects to write about like comedy, horror and love. Tonight (after midnight probably), a new LOTW starts! Suggestions?

On a different note, I'll amend the first post of this thread each time we start a LOTW with its link. It'll be an easy way to keep tabs on previous LOTWs versus going back several pages of topics.

If we do a shadow writing thing for LOTW 4 I have a good base for everyone to shadow off of.

a comic strip type thing

I had an idea to do comic type contests at Haz's old site a few months ago. Now that you brought that up, I'm thinking we could probably have an infinitely-running comic thread where each poster posts their own comic strip that they drew and wrote. I'll flesh out the details later with help from you guys depending on if you like the idea.

I like the idea. That isn't a bad idea for a LOTW. A comic strip template that we have to fill in.

Maybe in the Graphics section you could do a contest for a comic template and the winner is used for the next LOTW.

Yeah, like they draw the characters (colors may be optional) and the thought/speech bubbles, and we fill them in. And those here in the lit forum that don't have Photoshop can use MS Paint to fill in the bubbles with text. I like that. That's quite good actually.

I'd like feedback about this from others, too.

We need themes for the next two weeks. I forgot to calculate that the comic template contest will eat up one week for submissions and another week for voting. The comic LOTW will most likely be #7.

Here is a "poem" I recently wrote. Its not very good but perhaps we could have a contest in the same style. Each line has two words, and it relates to the general message, which is the first letter of each line read down. Probably doesnt make sense so here is my example:

Saddened

Wilted mistletoe
Oblivious references
Nightly contemplation
Thoroughly exposed
Yellowed pages
Original contempt
Unyeilding challenge
Lonesome avatar
Outsider unwelcomed
Voracious interest
Empathic touch
Mysterious omen
Everything ends.

If you read it down it says "Wont you love me". I dont know if there is a name for this style, its just something I did. Only takes a few minutes to write, so we may get more entries.

Ya thats cool, when i wrote it it was supposed to be a hidden message, but with spaces it definitely works better.

We have a comic template we can use for LOTW #6, but there are only speech bubbles in 5 of the 12 panels. It looks alright, but there isn't much writing to be done in it. I'm wondering if I should add more bubbles or make a new template altogether. Hmm... maybe each of us should make our own comic templates and fill them in ourselves.

Opinions? Ideas?
