Ive been trying to softmod a retail xbox but I believe the partition table may be corrupt. Im using Kinroachs Ndure installer and everytime it does the partition check I get errors. Im guessing the drive being locked is not the issue because I have tried another XBox and it has no problem getting past that point. Only with this particular Xbox do I have problems with the partition check. Can anybody point me in the right direction on how to repair a retail harddrives partition table? The only thing I have been able to find so far has been this thread http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=203561 but its not real helpful explaining what I would need to do

Is there any chance I could accidentally erase the HDKey by reformatting the HD? or is the key kept in one of the chips on the harddrives circuit board which wouldnt be affected by a reformat? The reason I didnt try to just reformat it to begin with was because I didnt know where the harddrive kept the key and I didnt want to accidentally erase it.
