Wireless 360 Headset Defect Video
Posted by XanTium | December 7 18:35 EST

Micro23 posted on digg.com about a problem he has with his Wireless 360 Headset ... apparently it doesn't want to sync on the same channel as his original wireless controller he got with his launch 360, but it syncs fine with a brand new wireless controller.

Here is a video showing the Xbox 360 Wireless headset Defect. PLEASE help spread the word. Original console owners should not have to pay the cost for repair!

Man M$ is gonna have to address this shit soon. Its just starting to pile up way too much.

-Updates fragging boxes
-Wireless headsets not syncing
-boxes overheating
-90 day warrenty (no wonder)
-charging people 140$ for boxes that crashed due to updates?!?!

When is it going to end? I guess it will take several class action lawsuits.

Maybe they just tested it on newer controllers not even considering the oldest ones as well?

If enough pressure is put on them, they will hopefully acknowledge that there is a problem just like they eventually did with the consoles themselves.

if you sync the headset first, (it doesn't need a controller to work, you can sync your mic and use a universal remote to select a chat through the dash) it will take channel 1, then sync the controller it will also take channel one and everything works just fine, its in the instructions that came with the the mic

There is no similarity as far as the CONTROLLER itself having anything to do with the random headset disconnect and re-syncing problems that THOUSANDS of people have had every 5-10 minutes while playing on xbox-live. The disconnect problems not concerning the controller stem from a frequency stability issue with the microchip in the headset itsself, as I took a look at a experiment done on some other forums (ill find and post the link) about their frequency spectrum analyzer data which showed the headset emitting a sudden unstable signal every "x" number of minutes, consistently. I do see however how the maker of this video illustrated a seperate condition, and did a good job at it. However, I dont thing this is really goona get MS to do anything regarding the issue i mentioned above.

After calling MS several times and getting people who can barely speak english, let alone understand what "random disconnect" means, and pleading with them to save me the hassle of returning it to the store after 30 days, I just flat-out gave up. They REFUSED to believe me or take any measure to please the consumer.

I got my console the day of launch here in the UK, so its the first revision. I got the headset the day it was released over here too - and i have had not one single problem with it.

Its just working perfectly! So don't think this issue effects every single original controller - thats definately not the case here smile.gif

A lot of people defending this piece of shit.

That headset is crap. Total crap. EVERYONE I KNOW that has bought one has had more problems with dropping out, beeps, not synching. I returned mine a day after I bought it.

It's shit. Everyone knows it.

I came up with my own solution that is foolproof. I use the wired headset that came with my 360.
