the 360 has more raw power hands down. it has 512 ram 3 prossers and a top of the line ati card. the ps3 only has 1 prosser 256 ram and a large nivida card. witch system will top out on gfx befor it runs out of memery it whont be the xbox. sorry fanboys the ps3 is weak the cell is knothing more then a ppc prossser on drugs with btw has a very slow memery bus i rember devs complaning abought that bascily it cant acess the gpu fast enough couse the prosser is to slow so yes the ps3 has a better gpu but you cant use all of its power.
that's not entirely true. both systems have 1 processor. the 360 has a triple core chip and the cell is a 7 core chip. memory, the 360 has it hands down. graphics, i would say is leaning towards the 360, but the cell i do believe just hasn't been pushed to it's limit, same goes with the 360's. raw processing power, the ps3 is the winner, it crunches more numbers than the 360, but to me not enough to be $200 more.
i do like the intrigration of the "next generation" video disk drive the ps3 has (this is to say that blu-ray wins, which i doubt), and the nice things you can do with the PSP. With that being said, there is nothing to say that MS won't come out with some type of portible xbox or at least some sort of accessory that the PSP can do.
Now, multimedia i believe that the Xbox has it hands down. hmmm, lets compair these. both can play music. both can show pictures. now, where ps3 gets a point over 360 is due to the builtin card readers. streaming from the computer.... can't remember is ps3 can do this or not, but would be surpirzed if it didn't. being able to run homebrew.... plus 10 points for ps3, and the surfice is only being scratched on that. 360............. enough said. where i think that 360 wins over all is with the media center that is built in. I know most of the people on here probably don't have a media center computer, or some might not even know what it is. let me put it this way, when vista comes out, and everyone that is tech savy will be going for vista ultimate, and most new computers will have home prem on it, then people will start to understand more. take a $100 tv tuner card that is hardware encoded, put it in, and bam..... you now have a $400 system that can game, play music, play videos, show pictures and is a DVR for watching TV, which not to mention will also do HDTV. to me, that's not bad.
before anyone goes bashing media center or anything else about doing tv on your computer, i have been using a p4 HT 3.0 ghz computer that serves two 360 with TV and i can still game on it. Yes HDD space is an issue, but i haven't really run into it except now that i'm trying to rip all my dvd's to my HDD for play back.
