Xtreme firmware 5.0A and 5.0B for TS-H943
Posted by Iriez | December 18 07:14 EST

A New firmware for the Toshiba-Samsung TS-H943 drive released by commodore4eva!
Whats new:
(V5.0) Single Layer DVD disc support(+/-R) for both Xbox1 and 360
(V5.0) Xbox1 file ISO support - burn just game files to disk in ISO format
(V5.0) Xbox1 file ISO capacity increase to utilise full disk space for single layer
(v5.0) 360 file ISO support (Work in progress. New QWIX tool to come)
(V5.0) Supports older style XBox1 disk format (just burn game.iso)
(v5.0) Enable0800 disk now supported on single layer disk
(v5.0) New 5.0a (fast always) and 5.0b (slow always) read speed option (Originals unaffected)

A Few side notes:
This release will play previously burnt (if supported) xbox 1 games, but only if they are built with gdfimage or another builder based on it. Qwix(info) built images have different header information and will not boot! A new version will be out soon enough to fix these issues. Also, xbe's that are patched/modifed will also not boot, due to the signature being broke.
360 iso based Single Layer images are still being worked on. The support is there in v5, but the protection must be figured out on the disc structure. Qwix should be the first program to do this, and there is no ETA.

I want to let everyone know that im very interested in documenting Open tray errors.

I upgraded this ms25 from a v1 to v5 and started getting open tray errors. After heaps of testing, I found out that it only happens when using a bin that reports as a ms25. If I flash the xtreme50A or B straight with just the key patched it boots anything I throw at it.

I only have issues with Ritek media getting open tray errors, as verbatim boot 100%, and even crappy TEON single layers were booting (xb1)

So if you start getting open tray errors when upgrading to this release, do abit of testing. Try the ms28 (stock bin) version and see if it still occurs, and play around with results. Please post them, including what firmwares you flashed, methods of patching (key or changing report as info) and media you tried. Also please include manufactored date.

UPDATE--

XbeFix has been released! This will re-patch xbe's that have been patched with various programs back to their normal state. So if you used programs like dvd2xbox in order to backup games to your HD, then this is the program to correct those signatures!

mr commodore4eva i have two question for you....

1. have you cracked the hd file format yet so we can get bigger hds on the x360?
2. do you know if there is a REAL modchip for the x360 on the way soon?

hopefully you can reply to these questions here....

So, is there anyway to check if a xbe keeps the original signature intact?

I mean, most people used to backup their games with dvd2xbox which is know to patch the executable files it dumps. So...how to check that and undo that patching?

No so far ONLY the dvd drive is hacked, not the 360 protection. So a changed XBE will need to have the security of the 360 broken, NOT the dvd drive. This is out of his control or any1 elses right now.

1. LOL. The HD file format has nothing to do with it smile.gif The size of the HD, as it reports to the 360, is signed. Meaning you can only change the size if you hack the 360 core itself. In other words, see point 2:
2. Progress is being made, but there's still a LONG way to go, don't expect one in the very near future.
