KeyDriveXtractor (KDX) Ultimate for Xtreme 5.0
Posted by XanTium | December 20 19:43 EST

SC3N3R of F360TEAM released a new version of KeyDrive Xtractor/Patcher(info) (KDX) Ultimate updated with C4E's Xtreme v5.0 TS-H943 FW:
[QUOTE]
KDX Ultimate is a software capable to correct the E66 error induced by the last XBOX 360 dashboard update. The best advantage for this version it's capable to create an Xtreme 5.0A/B firmware with MS25 validation, avoiding this error.
To create this firmware, you don't need to download the Xtreme firmware. KDX Ultimate have built-in code capable to work directly with your original firmware making all the process a child game.
All this is only to make all more easy to join us to the Scene of the 360.

Features:
* KDX Ultimate for Xtreme 5.0 can create Xtreme 5.0A/B firmwares patching your dumped firmware.
* KDX Ultimate for Xtreme 5.0 is very easy to use, only follow the steps.
* KDX Ultimate for Xtreme 5.0 DON'T CONTAIN illegal software. It uses build-in software to patch firmwares (like a ppf file).
* You don't need to have Xtreme 5.0 pack in your PC.

Before using:
* You need dump your original firmware with MTKFLASH

So basically it patches original.bin. Not sure if it overwrites that all important file or what? And you don't even need to download the Xtreme package?.....hmmm.

In my opinion, patching a key is safer than patching most of the FW. Because if the key is wrong and the drive doesn't work, you can simply repatch the correct key and still be able to flash via software given that you made a correct dump of original.bin.

If the FW becomes corrupt with a multi-location patch(I'm assuming the KDX patches at different addresses of the FW), then who knows if you'll still be able to reflash the drive to fix the problem of a corrupt FW? Brick anyone??? I'm not saying that KDX is going to do this but can't it be a possibility?

It's just for the Toshiba-Samsung drives ... not for Hitachi-LG drives.

If this program contains NO illegal code and just patches an existing legitimate firmware, then why is there no link for it ?

You probably didn't notice this on the front page news post:
Download: n/a (may be illegal under DMCA/EUCD)

what's the big deal, you can get it from "the usual places".

If your 360 came with an ms25 drive, but you flash it with an ms28 firmware such as Xtreme 5.0, you'll get error 66. Same if you have an ms28 drive flashed with an ms25 firmware such as Xtreme 3.0.
If your 360 came with an ms25 drive, and you flash it with Xtreme 5.0 which has been patched to report its version as ms25, problem solved.

You won't have a problem anyway as yours is ms28, unless you flash with an unpatched Xtreme 3.0.

Would someone like to tell me where "the usual places" are via pm?

looks good mate,

only problem is... I have a 78... ~sigh~ I am trying to get my hands on a older hitachi or sammy to replace my 78. i saw this program fixes the ms25's that reported as ms28's. can this also tell the sammys to report as 78's?
