will sega ever come back in the usa as a console maker probably not they screwed there customers twice first with Saturn and then dc uncertainly no us customer will trust sega again.
i personally loved the dc it was as powerful as a friggen xbox thinks to there power vr system. it was the first console to support homebrew and the first console to have online play.
sega always did good with cutting edge consoles.
In all Honesty, Sega Screwed everyone several times. Sega Cd, 32x, Saturn, Dreamcast...And not to forget the shortly lived Nomad, and CDX. Don't get me wrong, My heart is with Sega, Shit-tastic marketing or not. All the Add-on's screwed a lot of customers due to marketing confusion, then right after everyone finally had a 32 and sega cd (well the few that could afford them both) Sega launched the Saturn. The rear cart slot had a lot of people thinking it was backwards compatible, It wasn't, so more customers were done with Sega.
Then 9/9/99 Sega Dropped the last bomb shell, with the Death of Segata Sanshiro, Sega's marketing pretty much failed the world over, minus Japan.
Um, as for your comment the DC was not the first to Offer online play (Unless you meant out of the box) Saturn Had Netlink, and a system link cable, although hardly used, also, Saturn had/has a decent amount of homebrew.
As for the 360 being the next Dreamcast it really rubs me the wrong way. These people aren't taking into consideration that the Katana.. err... Dreamcast was launched by a company that was financially pulling at straws to stay afloat. Microsoft on the other hand could shit a half a million a day for a good deal of time before getting remotely close to broke. And even in the event if they drop a new OS or Office product, and stick it on every Dell computer that is enough money to keep their head out of the water.
