What Do You Want from Microsoft in 2007?
Posted by XanTium | December 31 12:48 EST

From microsoft-watch.com:
[QUOTE]
While others look into their crystal balls and make 2007 predictions, Microsoft Watch readers make crystal clear what they want from the software giant next year.

For 2007, Roland Crawford, an IT manager from Jamaica, wants "VOIP from Microsoft" and "SMS integration with more platforms." Microsoft is set to fulfill Crawford's requests with new versions of Exchange Server and Live Communications Server.

Abe Touset, with Dudes Unlimited, in Margate, Fla., uses his Pocket PC handheld like a portable computer. But he finds that hardware limitations limit usability. "Microsoft should recommend manufacturers to upgrade their video memory above the 2MB point, maybe 8MB or more, for better graphics and game play," he said.
His request may not be so hard to fulfill, based on where Microsoft is going with Windows CE 6.0.

"I want a device--one device--that is a Zune, a PDA and an Xbox portable," said Mugunth Kumar, a software design engineer for General Electric in India. "The device should be capable of running .NET Framework 2.0 applications. It should also be capable of booting a Windows machine through USB and also act as an external storage media. It should have a disk space of at least 100GB."
The device Kumar wants may manifest in next-generation Ultra-Mobile PCs or Microsoft's rumored handheld game console. Given that Microsoft pegged the same folks for Zune as Xbox and that Zune can beam music to Xbox 360, my money would be on the rumored portable gaming device. In 2007? I'll predict, yes.

that super zune thing would be awesome, and probably great competition for the PSP if they could hit that price range....although its doubtful they could with a 100gb HD...but knowing MS it'll just be an optional add on lol.

I want MS to allow network access in XNA so XBMC could be ported properly, and they need to allow anyone to download XNA games/apps/emulators, not just XNA subscribers grr.gif
If they allow this then i would like someone to port the SSF saturn emu, so I can play Radiant Silvergun.

all i want from MS in 2007 is "Forza Motorsport 2" (and for the xbox360 console to get cheaper) wink.gif ... which should happen... this is pretty much the only real reason i want a xbox360 right now.

forza motorsport for the xbox 1 was the best sim racing game hands down... this one (forza 2) should be the best once it comes out.... cause it should improve on the already great forza 1 ... main thing i think that will improve besides the obvious graphics differances is the "frame rate", it should run at a perfect 60fps instead of 30fps like forza 1 was on xbox.

Things MS could do to make us more happy:
-More Gears of War Maps
-Make MS Points cheaper.
-Have Video Streaming of all movies types throught WMP11.
-A Pony
-A few free points giveaways
-A Bigger, Badder, Better Zune
-Windows Vista Not to suck and be buggy
-More Stable 360's (for those who have had numerous ones)
-Pancakes (w/ or w/o powdered sugar)

And Lastly....
- Halo 3, just don't let it be delayed anymore than it already is, and maybe go into movies, and finally make the Halo Movie! pop.gif

Less microtransactions mad.gif
or
Cheaper MS points

More exclusives

Halo 3 (please be as good as the first one) and for the multiplayer to be balanced so we don't have everyone running around with shotguns/swords/sniper rifles.

I don't think MS points should get cheaper.. That's like saying money should be cheaper.

It would be cool if some of the Arcade games got cheaper after being out awhile.. Platnium Hits style. And some of the themes and little things like that should be free.

They should make more content free, and limit the amount you DL per month. If you want to DL past the set amount, it costs points.

I hear ya, DivX and xVid is a must and for it to work in WMP11 and not just MCE2005/Vista, a HUGE HDD addon (200GB Fugitsu SATA 2.5" just came out I heard love.gif ) 100GB should suffice tho biggrin.gif

oh and for us VGA users to switch between 50/60Hz (Some games dont like 60Hz and visa versa) without having to plug in a composite cable on a tv then replug the damn VGA cable back in afterwards grr.gif

[edit] wooo, here's a Hitachi 200GB sata 150 for only £119 biggrin.gif
