Two Additional Paths of Entry to Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta
Posted by XanTium | January 3 13:36 EST

From the press release:
[QUOTE]
Microsoft Game Studios and Bungie Studios are ringing in the year with a proverbial bang, as they announced today two new ways for gamers to receive an invitation to participate in the "Halo 3" multiplayer beta program coming this spring through Xbox LiveŽ Marketplace.

Specifically, gamers will be able to receive an invitation by doing one of the following:
* Qualifying over Xbox Live and then being one of the first 13,333 "Halo 2" gamers to register for the "Rule of Three" program at http://www.halo3.com in early February
* Purchasing the upcoming game "Crackdown," which hits store shelves in the U.S. on Feb. 20

This is stupid, it should be a free beta for everyone who has a 360 and xbox live gold when it's ready.

Has anyone received any updates from bungie after registering for the stuff on their site ?

And yeah on one hand it is bullshit that they are not releasing it publicly, but on the other hand it is really good marketing and most of us will probally find a way to get in on the action legal or illegal.

If your bungie do you want a bunch of beta testers that will provide good insightful feedback??

Or a bunch of noobs flooding them with bug reports about their xbox not being able to connect to the internet, or that halo 3 lagz.

I would prefer a dedicated team of hardcore players that feel like they earned the position. And have to work at keeping it.

Exactly what I was thinking wink.gif . But seriously I agree a dedicated team of hardcore players, would be MUCH better equipped to put HALO 3 through it's paces and find what needs to be fixed much more efficiently than THE WHOLE XBOX LIVE populous.

So does this mean that not everyone in the U.S. will get a spot in the halo 3 beta?

I think this pretty much sums up my point about not having a public beta.

All I have to say is W... T... F... I should'nt have to buy a game to get into the beta testing of H3. I thought what we did when signing up was the only way and if you were only picked...

If anyone gets in on the beta they should post footage on youtube and tell us in forums here.

PS

Anyone know how to contact bungie? Sometimes they read email on the weekly update and respond anyone know how to email them? Send me a PM.
