My Xbox DVD drive makes a loud snap sound when it is done pulling in the disk -- it sounds to me like is it trying to pull the tray in further than it is supposed to. (This is my 3rd box, and this doesn't sound normal) This is a ebay box, so I don't know if it did this when it was new.

I'll pull the drive apart, but what do I need to look for? Does it sound like this is something I can fix?

Thanks,
Blue

take it apart, pull the tray out and push it back a few times, leave it a lilttle bit open - put it back together and try that

ive had pc drives do the same and that normally sorts them

Took the drive apart, didn't find any problems. Also -- it doesn't make the noise if the top metal cover is removed.

Any other ideas??

Thanks,
Blue
