So I got my linux disk burnt and did the boot from disk thing and hooked my hard drive up as primary master. Now it goes to the first screen and I press 1 and enter. Then it asks me for password. After I put it in and press enter it tells me the drive is not detected. Why is this? I'm using a Western Digital 250 GB drive (Model WD2500JBRTL). Also when I plug the hard drive in and start the computer should it make noise because it isn't. Thanks.

What password are you typing in?

Have you felt the drive to see if it is spinning? It may not make much noise.
