Installed an old Maxtor 5400rpm 10 GIG drive in the xbox as the previous was 8 gig.

I just logged in via FTP and used raw ftp commands to format each partition on xbox's new hd. This worked fine.

When I use Config Magic it says HD Doesn't support locking or something. Do some hd's not support locking or is it just a prob?

Also was it ok to just format the new hd via ftp commands, I didnt use any hd preparer app or nothing, just put it in the xbox and formatted via ftp. Is that cool?

yes some HDD's (in specific Maxtor) doesnt support locking..
