Hi guys,
I've got a dead box I'm going to heatgun later this week, and I figure that if I get it up and running again I'll replace both the heatsinks.
I'm not worried about the overhead space etc. I can figure that out later on. I'm just wanting to know if any CPU heatsink mounts are the same size as the 360?
Looks about the same size as the old Socket A motherboard holes, but I don't have a mobo or heatsink to check.

Can anyone give me a push in the right direction? I don't want to use watercooling dry.gif

Thanks all

Try an LGA775 Socket T heatsink.

Cheers, as most motherboards have their own retention clips, how should I mount it to the board? Do they sell a heatsink with retention bracket, or a hole mounting Socket T heatsink?

those really big zalman have everything you need for a pc (as in the block that goes underneath the motherboard, im using one on my conroe) i'm also interested in having something like this for one of my 360s also... perhaps into a pc case.

btw i got a zalman 9500

this can show you exactly what comes with it.

i'd like to know if this is also capable running on a 360?

i have that same heatsink on my PC, it's huge

Also, the 360's heatsink holes do not line up exactly with the lga775 standard, the 360's holes are slightly closer together, but I'm 99% sure the difference is great enough that the heatsink wouldn't fit.

Besides having a gigantic donut sticking out of the top of your 360...
